And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.18 He said, Bring them hither to me.19 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.20 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. 21 And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.22 And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. MATTHEW 14:17-25 (KJV)
In this passage of scripture, Jesus clearly indicated the clear difference between waiting in God’s presence before moving and moving without waiting in God’s presence to be empowered with strength and energy needed to conquer the storms of life. After a major miracle of feeding 5000 men, Jesus immediately sent His disciples ahead of Him in a ship while He went to pray. Is wisdom to wait on Him for direction before making any move. Don’t be that believer that is always running ahead every morning without fellowship with God. The disciples moved and encountered a storm. There are storms in life and there are storms in each day, only those who wait on the Lord are endowed with the power and ability to navigate through victoriously. Never move ahead in a hurry without waiting to be impacted with power to overcome the storms. Wait on Him always before you move. You don’t lose anything when you wait. When you wait, you will meet those who have gone ahead of you in the storms with solutions that bails them out. The only way to gather the capacity to walk on water is to wait. The only way to see the miraculous each day is to have quality time in His presence before stepping out.
Prayer of the Day: Father in the name of Jesus, I ask for the grace for daily consistency of waiting in your presence to receive wisdom, guidance and direction that will help me to conquer the challenges that each day brings.
