But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. JAMES 1:22(NKJV)

For instance, let us look at a scripture on practical instructions from the Word of God that requires we doing what the Word says.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. PHILIPPIANS 4:6-7(NKJV)

 “Be anxious for nothing….” First, we are told not to be anxious. If you are going to be anxious and have anxieties, it will do you no good to make any requests from God. That kind of praying does not produce results. Any over-anxious prayer full of fretfulness will never reach heaven, not to talk of producing results. Whenever you read God’s Word, tell the Lord that His Word is true and that you believe it. We will always be tempted to say we couldn’t help worrying and fretting. But God cannot ask us to do something He has not empowered us to do. When God said not to be anxious—that means we can keep from fretting and being anxious. God is a just God and He will not ask us to do something we cannot do.

 When you want to begin to practice the above verse, I can tell you that it might be much easier to believe that you could make your requests known unto God—but it will be hard to believe that you could not fret. However, since God says we don’t have to fret, then all we need to keep saying would be, “I refuse to fret or have any anxiety about anything when we bring our requests unto Him. Then thank Him for the answer. This will quieten your spirit and pacifies the troubled spirit the devil is trying to make you have. And each time, the devil will try to get you to fret again, then you go back and declare the verse again and keep claiming it. If we would practice the Word, our faith will be built up to receive our desires from God.

Prayer of the Day: Father in the name of Jesus, I declare that your Words are true, I refuse to fret or be anxious, I believe, receive and obey every instruction by your Spirit that is designed to produce my testimonies.
