Speak the Truth in Love (Feb. 5)

That we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— EPHESIANS 4:14-15(NKJV)

Have you ever thought about what it means to speak the truth in love? Speaking the truth in love is the key to our faith, integrity, and spiritual growth. When we speak truth with love, we think about how our words affect others. We pick our words wisely, considering their impact. We must understand our relationships and how we talk to others. Truth spoken with love builds trust, deepens relationships, and helps us grow. “Speaking the truth in love is not just about delivering a message; it’s about creating a space where both truth and love can flourish.”  God’s Word helps us tell what’s true from what’s not. Without it, we could follow every new idea or trend. Like a tree gets its strength from its roots, we get wisdom from the truth. Truth spoken in love helps us grow personally and spiritually, makes us open and honest with each other, and leads to deeper connections and understanding. By speaking truth with kindness, we show God’s character to a hurting world.

Let no unwholesome word come out of your mouth, but if there is any good word for edification according to the need of the moment, say that, so that it will give grace to those who hear. EPHESIANS 4:29(NASB)

Our words must aim to uplift and encourage, not hurt or divide. We must do it with kindness, empathy, and compassion. When we speak the truth in love, we build trust and authenticity. It makes our relationships stronger which will in turn lead to growth and change in our lives and community. Speaking truth in love is hard sometimes, requires sincerity, vulnerability, and a commitment to authentic communication but with the right heart, it can change lives and help us heal. Our words should be kind, gentle, and full of empathy. This shows we care about others and help them through tough times. Share the truth in a loving, gentle, inoffensive and non-threatening manner

Prayer of the Day: Father in the name of Jesus, I ask for the discipline and wisdom to always speak the truth as an act of love
