Matthew 7:11 (NKJV) – “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!”
Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV) – “‘For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,’ says the LORD, ‘thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.'”
Psalm 138:8 – “The LORD will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O LORD, endures forever; do not forsake the works of Your hands.”
Many believers live with the fear that someone else can take what God has planned for them. They worry that another person will receive their promotion, steal their opportunity, hinder their calling, or prevent them from entering God’s promises. The Bible teaches us that while people may oppose God’s plans, they cannot ultimately overthrow them. Human opposition is real, but God’s purpose is greater.
Consider the life of Joseph. His brothers sold him into slavery. He was falsely accused, imprisoned, and forgotten. It appeared that his destiny had been stolen. Yet every attempt to stop him became another step toward God’s purpose. Years later, Joseph could truthfully say, “You meant evil against me; but God meant it for good.” What people intended to destroy, God transformed into the very pathway to his promotion.
David experienced similar opposition. Before he became king, he was pursued by Saul, who repeatedly sought to kill him. Yet Saul could not cancel God’s anointing. God’s promise was fulfilled at the appointed time because divine purpose cannot be permanently defeated by human resistance. This does not mean believers will never face delays, losses, or spiritual battles. Scripture acknowledges that we live in a fallen world where opposition exists. But it does mean that God’s ultimate purposes for those who trust Him are secure. The enemy may delay, distract, or discourage, but he cannot nullify God’s sovereign plan.
Joel’s promise of restoration reminds us that God is able to redeem lost years and bring fruitfulness after seasons of hardship. Even when circumstances seem to have robbed us, God is able to restore, renew, and accomplish His purposes in ways beyond our expectations. Therefore, refuse to live in fear of people. Refuse to compare your journey with others. The blessing God has assigned to your life is not dependent on human approval but on His faithfulness. Walk humbly, faithfully, and obediently, trusting that the Lord who began a good work in you will bring it to completion. Your confidence is not in your own strength, your connections, or your abilities. Your confidence is in the God who keeps His promises.
Daily Application: Today, release every fear that someone else has taken what belongs to you. Instead of dwelling on disappointments or comparing yourself with others, thank God for His faithfulness. Continue to serve Him with excellence, integrity, patience, and love. If you have experienced setbacks, trust God to redeem what has been lost and to guide your steps into the opportunities He has prepared. Remember that your security is found in God’s promises, not in changing circumstances.
Prayer of the Day: Heavenly Father, thank You because You are faithful to fulfill every promise You have spoken over my life. Thank You that Your purposes cannot be defeated by people, circumstances, or the schemes of the enemy.
Lord, I surrender every fear, disappointment, and anxiety into Your hands. Help me to trust You when I cannot see the full picture. Give me grace to remain faithful even during seasons of waiting or opposition.
Restore every area of my life where I have experienced loss. Redeem wasted opportunities, strengthen my faith, and establish the work of my hands according to Your perfect will. Let every obstacle become an opportunity for Your glory to be revealed.
Guard my heart from jealousy, comparison, bitterness, and discouragement. Fill me instead with peace, hope, patience, and joyful expectation. May my life testify to Your faithfulness and Your power to accomplish what You have promised.
I thank You because You are working all things together for my good as I love You and walk according to Your purpose. I receive Your wisdom, Your favor, and Your strength for every season. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
Faith Confession: Today I declare that God is faithful, and His promises concerning my life will surely come to pass. I will not fear because the Lord is with me. No weapon formed against me shall prosper, and nothing can separate me from the love and purpose of God in Christ Jesus.
I declare that every blessing God has appointed for me will come in His perfect timing. I reject fear, comparison, jealousy, and discouragement. I choose to walk by faith, knowing that the Lord is ordering my steps and working all things together for my good.
Where there has been loss, God is bringing restoration. Where there has been delay, God is producing perseverance and hope. Where there has been opposition, God is making a way. I trust His wisdom, His goodness, and His perfect timing.
The Lord perfects all that concerns me. His favor surrounds me like a shield. His grace is sufficient for me. I will fulfill the purpose for which He created me, and my life will bring glory to His name.
I boldly declare that no good thing will be withheld from me according to God’s perfect wisdom and timing. I will walk in His peace, rejoice in His faithfulness, and continually give Him praise. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
