WHO IS YOUR SOURCE?

I am the vine; you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. JOHN 15:5(NKJV)

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. 8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not [a]fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit. JEREMIAH 17:7-8(NKJV)

I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help?2 My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2(NKJV)

The question “Who is your source?” goes deeper than a spiritual slogan—it reveals the foundation of your life. Your source is what you depend on when pressure rises, when decisions must be made, and when results are required. Many people claim God as their source, but their reactions reveal otherwise. When challenges come, do you turn first to worry, people, money, or your own understanding? Or do you return to God in trust? Your default response often exposes your true source.

God is not meant to be one of your options—He is meant to be your only Source. Every other thing in your life is simply a channel. Jobs, relationships, skills, and opportunities are not your source; they are instruments God uses. When you mistake a channel for your source, you become anxious, fearful, and easily shaken when that channel is affected. This is why some people lose peace when finances drop, when people disappoint them, or when opportunities close. It is not just the loss—it is misplaced dependence. But when God is truly your Source, your confidence remains steady because your Source cannot fail, cannot dry up, and cannot be taken away.

Remaining connected to God is not a one-time decision—it is a daily posture. It requires intentionality. Just like a branch continually draws nourishment from the vine, you must continually draw from God through prayer, His Word, and fellowship with Him. Disconnection may not always be obvious at first, but over time it produces dryness, confusion, weakness, and fruitlessness. Also, understand this: connection determines flow. Wherever you are connected, that is what flows into your life. If you are connected to fear, anxiety flows. If you are connected to pressure, stress flows. But if you are connected to God, life, peace, clarity, and strength flow naturally.

God is not trying to limit you—He is your greatest advantage. When He is your Source, you don’t struggle for direction; you receive guidance. You don’t force results; you bear fruit naturally. You don’t live in fear; you walk in confidence, and you don’t burn out because you are continually refreshed by His presence. The goal of your walk with God is not just to visit Him occasionally, but to live from Him daily. A life that is truly sourced in God is a life that cannot run dry.

Daily Application: Be conscious of your dependence today. In every situation—big or small—practice returning to God first. When a need arises, say, “God, You are my Source.” When confusion comes, pause and seek His direction instead of rushing. Build a habit of drawing from Him consistently, not occasionally.

Prayer of the Day: Father in the name of Jesus, I choose You as my only Source. I break every dependence on anything that replaces You in my life. Teach me to trust You completely and to draw from You daily. Let my life be sustained by Your presence and guided by Your wisdom. I receive grace to stay connected at all times. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Faith Confession: Lord! I declare that I am deeply connected to You as my Source, and You are my supply in all things. I do not rely on human strength, systems or people. I depend fully on You. My life is rooted and grounded in You, and I flourish continually without dryness or confusion. Like a tree planted by the waters, I bear fruit in every season, and everything I do prospers because I remain rooted in You. I am not shaken by circumstances because my Source is unchanging and faithful. I receive wisdom, strength, and direction from You daily, and I walk in clarity and confidence. I am connected, sustained, empowered, and productive in every season, and everything I need flows to me because I abide in You.
