Finally, all [of you] should be of one and the same mind (united in spirit), sympathizing [with one another], loving [each other] as brethren [of one household], compassionate and courteous (tender-hearted and humble). 1 PETER 3:8(AMPC)
Love gets involved. It doesn’t stand stoically on the sidelines while others go through a hard time. The Bible teaches us that each of us has a heart capable of feeling the struggles of others. Sympathy involves stepping into someone else’s shoes, feeling their struggles, and offering genuine support. Life can be challenging, and we all face trials that can weigh us down. During these times, it is crucial to remember that offering and receiving sympathy can lighten the burden.
Therefore encourage (admonish, exhort) one another and edify (strengthen and build up) one another, just as you are doing. 1 THESALONIANS 5:11(AMPC)
Let’s do as much as possible to be there for one another, especially when life gets tough. We find comfort in knowing that we are not alone; with every trial we face, we are called to lean into our connections and offer support to others equally in pain. This way, we grow together, strength upon strength.
Prayer is a powerful way to express our sympathy and support for others. When we pray for someone who is hurting, we not only ask for peace and comfort for them, but we also align our hearts with God’s will. We have the power to create an environment that fosters sympathy and compassion. By living out these principles in our everyday life, we can inspire those around us to do the same. Together, we can create bonds that mirror the love and kindness of Christ, which will ripple out into the world.
Prayer of the Day: Father in the name of Jesus, help me to see the struggles of the people around me and give me more grace to pray for them, show compassion and provide support were needed
