“Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14 (NKJV)
We live in a distracted age that is full of so many information, responsibilities, anxieties. We must always remember that whatever you give attention to grows. Distraction is the enemy of destiny. Focus multiplies productivity. Every intentional direction and clarity bring spiritual, personal, and even material increase when aligned with God’s will. Increase (influence, growth, fruit) comes when we stay in our lane and obey God with consistency. Focus is a choice, not a feeling. Focus directs your energy. You can’t give 100% to everything. Jesus was laser-focused on His mission (Luke 9:51 – “He set His face toward Jerusalem.”). Eliminate what is good to pursue what is God because the Lord will always help anyone who is focused.
For the Lord God will help Me; therefore, I will not be disgraced; therefore, I have set My face like a flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed. ISAIAH 50:7(NKJV)
“Look straight ahead and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil.” Proverbs 4:25-27 (NLT)
God often speaks clearly, but without focus, we miss what He’s saying. When you focus, distractions fall away. A focused mind attracts divine strategies. Don’t wait to feel motivated. Choose to stay focused even when it’s hard. Eliminate unnecessary distractions including (social media, toxic voices, fear, comparison). Unbending focus isn’t stubbornness—it’s spiritual discipline. As you lock in on your calling, God releases increase: wisdom, provision, opportunity, and favor. Your increase is on the other side of your focus.
Focus produces fruit “If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit…” John 15:5(NKJV) Increase (growth, success, impact) is a byproduct of staying connected and focused on your divine source. Nehemiah said in Nehemiah 6:3 – “I’m doing a great work and I cannot come down”. And apostle Paul said – “This one thing I do…” (Philippians 3:13-14). Jesus – Spent time alone to stay focused on the Father’s will. Even farmers don’t chase crops—they cultivate focus. Focus brings supernatural help. God strengthens those who stay fixed on Him. Heaven backs those who remain fixed on the mission. Hebrews 12:2 – “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…” When Peter kept his eyes on Jesus, he walked on water. When he looked at the storm, he began to sink (Matthew 14:29-30). Many want breakthrough and increase, but few maintain the focus necessary to reach it. God rewards diligent, unbending focus—not casual interest.
