“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.” James 1:12 (NIV)
Everyone desires growth, promotion, and increase. But the pathway to increase is not always easy—it requires perseverance. There are rewards that only enduring trials, staying faithful, and not giving up can unlock and bring.
“Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.” Romans 5:3-4(NIV)
God’s increase comes through testing. Example: Joseph persevered through betrayal, false accusations, and prison before he was promoted to the palace (Genesis 39–41). Trials are not to destroy us, but to grow us. The increase God wants to give is not just material—it includes wisdom, strength, character, and faith. Perseverance can turn suffering into strength and pain into purpose.
“You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.” Hebrews 10:36(NIV)
Many give up too soon, right before the breakthrough, promotion and increase comes. The enemy cannot stop God’s promise, but he can do anything possible to stop your persistence. To receive any promise of God on increase you must persevere. God’s promises are yes and amen—but perseverance is often the bridge between the promise and its fulfillment. A seed must endure pressure underground before it grows. The longer the root, the stronger the fruit.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9(NIV)
God will always reward the faithful. There is a due season—a time appointed by God for increase. Perseverance qualifies you for that harvest. God honors faithfulness. Increase may come gradually, spiritually, emotionally, financially, or relationally—but it always comes to those who endure. Don’t quit in the middle. The pressure means promotion is near. Stay in the Word. Let God’s truth fuels your endurance. Pray for strength, not escape. Ask God to help you persevere. Perseverance is not passive—it’s an active, trusting, enduring stance. Your increase is on the other side of your endurance. Keep walking, keep believing, keep praying—because perseverance brings increase.
Prayer of the Day: Father in the name of Jesus, I ask that you give me grace to persevere until my testimony is born.
