The Courage Factor

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

Courage is not the absence of fear; it’s doing the right thing even when you’re afraid. In today’s world, we need believers with “The Courage Factor”—those who will stand when others fall, speak when others stay silent, and obey when it costs everything. In Joshua’s situation: Moses is dead. Joshua must now lead a nation into the unknown. God doesn’t tell him to feel brave; He tells him to trust in His presence because He will be with you. “When you’re stepping into a new role, facing opposition, or standing for truth, don’t rely on your strength—lean into His. Ask yourself: “Am I more aware of the size of my challenge, or the size of my God?”

Joshua was told to walk around the walls of Jericho. That made no sense militarily. But obedience brought the miracle. Courage often means obeying God even when it doesn’t make sense. God may call you to forgive someone, start something new, or walk away from comfort. Don’t wait until it’s easy—just obey. Obedience is often the seed, and breakthrough is the harvest. Courage Is Contagious. Joshua’s courage inspired an entire nation to believe again. David’s courage inspired an army to chase the Philistines. Esther’s courage saved a nation. One courageous person can shift the atmosphere. Your boldness can unlock someone else’s breakthrough. Your stand can spark someone else’s strength. Who’s waiting on the other side of your courage?

Courage Leaves a Legacy. Joshua’s leadership paved the way for the promised land. What you do with your courage will outlive you. Hebrews 11 is a hall of faith, filled with people who risked everything because they believed in a God who was greater than fear. Don’t just live safe—live significant. The world doesn’t remember the fearful, but it remembers the faithful. Activate the Courage Factor. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. “This is not a suggestion—it’s a command. You don’t have to feel ready to be courageous. You just have to say “yes” to God.

Prayer of the Day: Father in the name of Jesus, “give me the courage to obey You even when it’s hard. Remind me that You are with us wherever we go. Let me be known not for my fear, but for my faith.”
