“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Exalt her, and she will promote you; She will bring you honor, when you embrace her. She will place on your head an ornament of grace; A crown of glory she will deliver to you. “Proverbs 4:7-9 (NKJV)
Everything we seek becomes sustainable and fruitful only when we pursue it with wisdom. We live in a time when people chase many things — money, fame, relationships, success — but the Bible tells us that wisdom is the principal thing and it brings increase — not just in material wealth, but in favor, influence, stability, and spiritual maturity. Wisdom attracts promotion and honor. It gives you the ability to make right decisions even when you are under pressure which will eventually attracts trust, responsibility, and ultimately, increase. Joseph, Daniel, and Solomon were all lifted because they operated in divine wisdom. Promotion does not come from the east or the west — it comes from the Lord (Psalm 75:6-7). But He uses wisdom as a vehicle for that promotion. The bible talking about wisdom in the book of proverbs, it says
“Exalt her, and she will promote you.” Proverbs 4:8(NKJV)
“Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.” Proverbs 3:16 (NIV)
When you walk in wisdom: you manage your finances well, you steward relationships carefully and you invest time and energy in the right places. This doesn’t just bring money — it brings a peaceful life, which is far more valuable than the prosperity that comes with pain, sorrows and tragedies. Wisdom brings prosperity and peace. Solomon asked for wisdom, and God gave him not only wisdom, but wealth and peace during his reign (1 Kings 3:10-13). Wisdom empowers you with direction and discernment
“If the ax is dull and its edge unsharpened, more strength is needed, but skill (wisdom) will bring success.” Ecclesiastes 10:10 (NIV)
Wisdom gives you direction and helps you avoid unnecessary battles. It helps you to discern the right time to act and empowers you to recognize opportunities others miss, and it also saves you time, energy, and pain. It sharpens your decision making so you don’t live by trial and error. Wisdom is not just a mental attribute — it’s a spiritual deposit. Wisdom Is a Spiritual Force. James 1:5 tells us that God gives wisdom generously to those who ask. When you have the Spirit of God, you can walk in divine insight that surpasses natural intellect. Pray daily for the wisdom of God. Read the Word. Surround yourself with wise counsel. Whenever you seek wisdom, increase will surely follow. Solomon did not ask for riches, he asked for wisdom. And God gave him everything else as a result. The same principle applies today: when we pursue wisdom, godly, practical, and spiritual wisdom, increase becomes inevitable.
Here is our call to action today: Pray for wisdom every day (James 1:5). Study the Bible regularly and ask the Holy Spirit to help you in applying what you are learning because wisdom is not just head knowledge; it’s knowledge in action.
Prayer of the Day: Father in the name of Jesus I ask for Your wisdom today — not just to know more, but to walk wisely. Give me discernment, understanding, and divine strategy for every area of my lives. Let Your wisdom bring increase in my home, job, finances, and spiritual walk. Amen.”
