Practical Steps to Love Others (Part 5 – Feb. 11)

And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 CORINTHIANS 13:13(NKJV)

Patience and building others up are something that is seriously lacking in our world today. Sometimes people go through situations that our perception would never understand. Instead of tearing down, let’s try to build people up with words of hope and faith.

  1. Encourage and Build Up: 1 THESALONIANS 5:11 encourages believers, “Therefore encourage and build one another up, just as you are already doing.” Words of encouragement and affirmation strengthen people, relationships and foster a loving community.

  1. Be Patient and Humble: COLOSSIANS 3:12-14 advises, “Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with hearts of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Bear with one another and forgive any complaint you may have against someone else. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which is the bond of perfect unity.” Patience and humility are essential in maintaining loving relationships.

Prayer of the Day: Father in the name of Jesus, I receive the discipline to be patient with people. Help me Oh lord to build others up and not to tear them down
