Order My Steps

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way.” – Psalm 37:23 (NKJV)

Evaluate the path you’re on. Are your steps self-directed or Spirit-led? Spending time in God’s Word daily becomes the map to divine direction.  We must ask the Lord to order our steps — not just occasionally, but daily, intentionally, and completely. God has a plan for Your life “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11. Your life is not random. Even when your path feels unclear, God is not confused. Asking Him to order your steps is aligning with His divine roadmap. Stop asking God to bless your plans — ask Him to reveal His plan. Seek His will before making decisions. “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” – Proverbs 16:9 (ESV)

God doesn’t always give us the full picture — He gives us steps. One step in obedience can lead to a lifetime of blessing. Steps include habits, decisions, relationships, and spiritual disciplines. Think about a GPS. You may have a destination, but it gives you turn-by-turn directions. If you try to take a shortcut, it reroutes you — but the destination is the same. God does the same for us. God orders our steps through His Word, His Spirit, and godly counsel. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” – Psalm 119:105. When you’re in tune with God’s Word, your steps are guarded from pitfalls. You don’t need to understand every step — you just need to obey. Are you asking for guidance while ignoring the guidance already written in His Word?

“All things work together for the good of those who love God…” – Romans 8:28(NKJV)

Not every step will feel like progress. God can use pain, delays, and closed doors to redirect your steps. Some stops are setups for your next level. If you feel stuck, trust that God is still at work. Sometimes the step is to wait. When God orders your steps, he walks with you. He doesn’t just send you — He goes with you. Your steps are not solitary. He strengthens, corrects, and comforts along the journey.

Prayer of the Day: Father in the name of Jesus I ask that you order my steps in Your Word. Let each decision, each move, and each relationship bring me closer to Your will. I surrender my plans for Your purpose. Amen.”
