Love is a Journey of Sacrifice

Eagerly pursue and seek to acquire [this] love [make it your aim, your great quest]; 1 CORINTHIANS 14:1(AMPC)

The word pursue in this verse means, “to follow in an effort to capture or overtake.” The word seek means “to try to find or discover; search for.” Which means, we need to go after love with all our heart and act as if we cannot live without it!

Genuine love would want to pay the price. A love walk does not come cheap or without personal sacrifice. Every time we choose to love God or someone, it will cost us something―resources, energy, strength, time, money or effort. We must be ready to count the cost before we make the commitment. When we make a true commitment to walk in love, it usually causes a huge shift in our lifestyle. Many of our ways―our thoughts, conversation, habits―have to change. Are you willing and ready to become a student of the love walk? If so, you need to know that it requires education and commitment.

We must have our minds transformed to what love really is. Love is tangible; it is not just a spiritual thing that cannot be seen or touched. It is very evident to everyone who comes in contact with it. Love is a decision we make―a decision to love God with all of our heart and to treat people the way Jesus would treat them.

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit [through factional motives, or strife], but with [an attitude of] humility [being neither arrogant nor self-righteous], regard others as more important than yourselves. 4 Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. PHILIPPIANS 2:3-4(AMP)

Prayer of the Day: Father in the name of Jesus, grant me the heart to give selflessly, reflecting Your boundless love and generosity. Help me to see the needs of others and respond with compassion and kindness. May my acts of giving be a true reflection of Your grace, bringing hope and joy to those around me. Teach me to serve without expectation, embodying Your spirit of love.
