Psalm 3:3 (KJV) “But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.”

Psalm 40:2 (KJV) “He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.”

Psalm 18:48 (KJV) “He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.”

Psalm 66:12 (KJV) “Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.”

Psalm 71:21 (KJV) “Thou shalt increase my greatness and comfort me on every side.”

 

There is a dimension of God’s goodness that is revealed through His power to lift people. He does not merely meet us where we are; He is able to bring us out of difficult circumstances, establish our steps, restore our dignity, and position us for greater experiences. David understood this when he declared, “Thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.” His confidence was not in his circumstances but in the God who had the power to change them.

To be lifted by God means to experience His intervention in a way that changes your position, condition, or experience. It is the movement from discouragement to renewed confidence, from limitation to greater capacity, from shame to honor, and from a place of struggle into a place of establishment. When God lifts a person, what once defined their experience no longer has to determine their future.

In Psalm 40:2, David testified that God brought him out of a horrible pit, set his feet upon a rock, and established his steps. Notice the progression. God did not merely bring him out; He also gave him a firm place to stand and established his journey. Divine lifting is not simply about escaping a difficult situation. It is also about receiving the stability, direction, and strength needed to move forward.

There are seasons when a person may feel surrounded by circumstances that appear stronger than their ability to overcome. Yet the testimony of Scripture is that God’s power is not limited by the depth of the pit or the strength of the opposition. No situation is too deep for His hand to reach, and no limitation is too great for His power to overcome.

Psalm 66:12 describes a journey through fire and water, but it ends with a remarkable testimony: “Thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.” The difficult journey was real, but it was not the final destination. God brought His people through and brought them out. This reminds us that the experiences we pass through do not have to become the permanent boundaries of our lives.

God’s lifting also reaches beyond our outward circumstances. He lifts our heads by restoring hope, renewing strength, and giving us the courage to face what is ahead. A person whose confidence has been renewed can rise again, make better decisions, pursue new opportunities, and continue fulfilling God’s purpose. Sometimes the first evidence of divine lifting is the change God produces within us before the change becomes visible around us.

However, divine lifting is not an invitation to abandon diligence, wisdom, or obedience. When God establishes our steps, we must continue walking in His Word. When He opens doors, we must enter with preparation and humility. When He enlarges our influence, we must use it faithfully. The God who lifts us also develops us to carry what He places in our hands.

Today, recognize the hand of God upon your life. Remember the situations He has brought you through, the strength He has supplied, the opportunities He has opened, and the progress He has enabled you to make. Do not allow what remains unfinished to blind you to what He has already accomplished.

He lifted me! My story is not limited to where I have been. The Lord has brought me through difficult places, established my steps, and given me fresh reasons to rejoice. My head is lifted, my confidence is renewed, and my journey continues under His mighty hand.

DAILY APPLICATION

Take time today to identify an area where God has already lifted you. It may be an answered prayer, a restored relationship, a difficult season you have overcome, or an opportunity you once thought impossible. Thank Him specifically for His intervention. Then consider how you can faithfully use the strength, wisdom, and opportunities He has given you. Celebrate His lifting, and continue walking in the direction He has established for you.

PRAYER OF THE DAY

Heavenly Father, thank You for being my glory and the lifter of my head. Thank You for every difficult place You have brought me out of and every step You have established. Where I need renewed strength, strengthen me. Where I need direction, guide me. Where limitations remain, let Your power make a way for me. Lift me into greater wisdom, maturity, fruitfulness, and effectiveness. Establish the work of my hands, and let my life continually testify of Your goodness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

HE LIFTED ME! The Lord is my glory and the lifter of my head. He has brought me out of difficult places, established my steps, and renewed my strength. I am not defined by past struggles or present limitations. My confidence is in the God who lifts, restores, and establishes. I walk in divine wisdom, strength, and favor. My life is moving forward, my capacity is increasing, and my experiences are being transformed by His goodness. The Lord has lifted my head, established my feet, and given me a testimony of His faithfulness. HE LIFTED ME!
