“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore, I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” MARK 11:23–24 (NKJV):
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” PROVERBS 18:21 (NKJV):
“And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, ‘I believed and therefore I spoke,’ we also believe and therefore speak.” 2 CORINTHIANS 4:13 (NKJV):
Your words are not empty—they are containers of power. God designed your tongue to align with your faith, not your fear. When Jesus taught that you will have what you say, He revealed a spiritual principle: your words, when spoken in faith, shape outcomes. Too often, people speak based on what they see, feel, or fear, and unknowingly reinforce the very situations they want to escape. But faith speaks differently—it calls things that are not as though they were.
When you consistently declare what God has said, you come into agreement with His will. Your confession becomes a bridge between promise and manifestation. This doesn’t mean ignoring reality, but it means refusing to let reality dictate your language. Instead, you let God’s Word govern your speech. Over time, what you say in faith begins to align your heart, your thinking, and your circumstances with God’s truth.
Another critical dimension is that your words shape your identity and your perception. If you constantly speak defeat, you train your mind to expect defeat. If you consistently declare God’s promises, you build a mindset of victory and expectation. Over time, your words influence your decisions, your actions, and ultimately your outcomes. This is why Scripture says you will “eat the fruit” of your words—you will live in the reality that your speech has helped create.
However, this principle is not about using words as a formula or a mere positive affirmation practice. The power is not in speaking alone, but in speaking from a heart anchored in God’s truth. Faith-filled words are effective because they are rooted in what God has already said. When your confession aligns with His Word, you are not trying to create your own reality—you are enforcing His will in your life.
So, when Jesus says, “you will have whatever you say,” He is inviting you into a life of intentional, disciplined, and faith-filled speech. It is a call to rise above fear-based talking, complaint, and negativity, and to step into a lifestyle where your words consistently agree with God. As you do this, you will begin to see that your voice is not just describing your life—it is actively participating in shaping it. Guard your words carefully. Negative speech plants seeds of limitation, but faith-filled words release life, direction, and breakthrough. If you want to see change, start by changing what you say daily.
Daily Application: Today, become intentional about your words. Pay attention to how you speak about your life, your future, your health, and your circumstances. When you catch yourself speaking negatively or in doubt, pause and replace those words with what God says about you. Choose one promise from Scripture and declare it boldly throughout your day. Even if your situation hasn’t changed yet, keep speaking in alignment with faith. Consistency in your confession will begin to shape your mindset and influence your outcomes.
Prayer of the Day: Heavenly Father, thank You for the power You have placed in my words. Teach me to speak in alignment with Your truth and not according to fear or doubt. Help me to discipline my tongue so that every word I release produces life and not destruction. Strengthen my faith so that I boldly declare Your promises, even when circumstances seem contrary. Let my words become instruments of change, breakthrough, and manifestation in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Faith Confession: I speak life in every situation. My words are aligned with God’s promises, and they produce results. I refuse to speak doubt, fear, or defeat. I declare that I will have what I say because my words are filled with faith. Every negative pattern is broken, and every promise of God is manifesting in my life. My mouth is a tool of victory, and I walk daily in the reality of what I declare.
