Lord, Direct My Path

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5–6 (KJV)

When you make room for God at the start of your plans, you avoid pain at the end of them. Life is a journey. We all walk a path filled with choices, detours, mountains, and valleys. Sometimes, the road is clear; other times, it’s foggy and uncertain. In every moment of our lives, we must cry out: “Lord, direct my path. “This plea is not a sign of weakness—it’s a declaration of trust, a recognition that God knows better than we do.

Trusting God means we choose to believe He is good, He is wise, and He is able, even when we don’t understand our situation. we must stop trying to figure it all out and instead rest in the One who already knows the end from the beginning. God doesn’t want to be a last resort or an emergency exit. He wants to be first in every decision. Acknowledge Him in your relationships – is this connection God’s will? Acknowledge Him in your career – is this job where He wants me? Acknowledge Him in your daily routine – have you prayed before acting?

“It is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.” Jeremiah 10:23(NIV)

If you want God to direct your path, you must first be willing to follow Him. His path may not be the easiest, but it is the most fulfilling. He Shall Direct Your Paths. This is not a maybe. This is a promise: He SHALL direct your paths. He may not show you the whole map, but He will give you the next step. God directs through: His Word, the Holy Spirit, wise counsel, doors He opens and shuts. Even when the path includes hardship, if God is leading, it is the right path.

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord…” Psalm 37:23(NIV)

As long as you stay close to the Shepherd, you’ll never be lost. Acknowledge = seek, consult, and honor Him. Invite God into decisions (relationships, work, finances, plans). Don’t treat God as a backup plan

“He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.” Psalm 23:3(NIV)

Prayer of the Week: Father in the name of Jesus Lord, I don’t want to lean on my own understanding. I surrender every plan, every fear, and every dream to You. Lead me. Guide me. Direct my path. I will follow.” Amen
