Love Must Live in Harmony

Be eager and strive earnestly to guard and keep the harmony and oneness of [and produced by] the Spirit in the binding power of peace. EPHESIANS 4:3(AMPC)

Live in harmony with one another. Think the same things toward each other. This does not necessarily mean total agreement. The word harmony implies a beautiful symphony, a collection of instruments playing on the same page at the same time. They don’t sound alike, and they don’t play the same notes. So, it is in the body of Christ. We don’t all look alike or act alike or sound alike. We certainly don’t always think alike. The church–both local and worldwide–is enriched by a variety of different opinions. But there is harmony amid the cacophony of sounds when we understand that the things that unite us are greater than the things that divide us.

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty (snobbish, high-minded, exclusive), but readily adjust yourself to [people, things] and give yourselves to humble tasks. Never overestimate yourself or be wise in your own conceits. ROMANS 12:16(AMPC)

The concept of living in harmony is a recurring theme throughout the Bible, emphasizing unity, peace, and mutual edification among believers. Harmony is not merely the absence of conflict but the presence of a deep, abiding peace that reflects the character of God and the teachings of Jesus Christ.

The biblical call to live in harmony is a profound and challenging mandate that requires the active participation of every believer. Through love, humility, and the power of the Holy Spirit, we are equipped to build communities that reflect the peace and unity of God’s kingdom.

Prayer of the Day: Father in the name of Jesus, give me the wisdom and understanding to live in harmony to people you have placed in my life
