“Trust God, Not Yourself”

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)

We plan, predict, analyze—but our knowledge is limited. This is why the Bible tells us not to lean on our own understanding. God sees what we can’t see. He knows what we don’t know. And He has a better plan than we could ever create. You can’t hold the steering wheel and ask God to direct your path at the same time. Trust means surrender—even when you don’t understand. What are you still trying to control in your life? Let go. Trust God completely. This verse says: “Lean not on your own understanding…“Your perspective is earth-bound, but God sees from eternity. We only see a piece of the puzzle—God sees the whole picture. Our logic, emotions, and opinions can mislead us—but God’s Word and Spirit never will. In all your ways acknowledge Him…“Not just the big decisions—include God in everything: your job, relationships, finances, parenting. Acknowledge means: to recognize, honor, consult, and submit to God’s will. Begin your day with prayer. Ask God: “What do You want me to do today?” Stay sensitive to the Spirit’s prompting.

“…And He shall direct your paths. “When we trust, stop leaning on ourselves, and acknowledge Him—He promises direction. God doesn’t always give you the whole map—sometimes He just gives you the next step.

“Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it.’” Isaiah 30:21(NIV)

Let go of your need to understand everything before you obey. Trust that God is wiser than you. Choose to surrender over control. When you stop leaning on your understanding, you’ll start walking in His direction. You don’t have to figure it all out. You just need to trust the One who already knows the end from the beginning

Prayer of the Day: Father in the name of Jesus, “forgive me for trusting my own thoughts more than Your truth. Teach me to surrender fully, to trust You with my whole hearts, and to follow wherever You lead. Amen.”
